Physiotherapy at re:ab

Our experienced physiotherapists are able to enhance your treatment by using our dedicated exercise and Pilates studio. To have your exercise programme supervised by your physiotherapist will ensure that you are exercising effectively and safely. This may include mirror therapy to teach good posture, resistance work, gait analysis and Pilates

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a dynamic science-based profession that uses a combination of treatment techniques at the physiotherapists disposal to restore movement and function. Whether your physical problem is from an injury, illness, disability or aging we will be able to advise, offer treatment and help you prevent recurrence.

Conditions We Treat

Musculoskeletal Injuries

Muscle injuries/aches and pain, back and neck strain/pain, golfers/tennis elbow, wrist and hand injuries, Achilles tendonosis, knee and ankle injuries, shoulder strains, poor posture. Orthopaedic post surgery rehabilitation, hip and knee replacement, arthroscopy, ACL reconstruction, back surgery.

Occupational Health

We have dedicated staff who are members of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Occupational Health and Ergonomics (ACPOHE)

What to expect

Pain, stiffness and discomfort may be some of the symptoms you are experiencing when you visit us and your physiotherapist will ask you a series of questions related to your problems, work and activities to help diagnose the cause of the symptoms. A detailed physical examination will follow. We will explain the diagnosis and discuss with you the treatment plan. Treatment will start immediately; your first visit will take approximately 45 minutes and subsequent visits will be up to 30 minutes.

A full range of treatments is available including joint manipulation or mobilisation, massage, ultrasound and usually includes advice and a home exercise programme if appropriate.

Your Initial Consultation and Treatment

A detailed history will be taken, followed by a thorough assessment of your condition.  You will receive expert advice and a treatment.  Your treatment plan will then be discussed with you and this may also include Pilates, massage therapy and acupuncture, if appropriate.
